Fighting Racism, Antisemitism and Intolerance through Sports

Maia Cabrera – Professional Soccer Player

May 8, 2025 by Max Admin

Maia Nedara Cabrera Mamann is a Dominican-Israeli central midfielder for Maccabi Kishronot Hadera in Israel’s Ligat Nashim.

She recorded 81 matches and 6 goals for St. John’s University (2017–2021), then played in the WPSL with Long Island Fury and SUSA FC before moving to Israel in 2024.

Internationally, Cabrera earned 10 youth caps for Israel, appeared twice for the Dominican Republic’s senior team in 2021, and in February 2025 completed a FIFA one-time nationality switch to Israel, where she now has three senior caps. A deep-lying midfielder, she is valued for two-footed distribution and positional discipline and is slated to anchor Hadera’s 2025-26 campaign while featuring in Israel’s UEFA Women’s Nations League B fixtures.
